What is TOPIK?

TOPIK, Test Of Proficiency In Korean is a test to measure the Korean language proficiency of non-native speakers in South Korea. 
TOPIK test measures proficiency in Reading, Writing, and Listening comprehension in the Korean language. The test las 3 different levels. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Further accuracy is expressed through 6 grades.
 
 

Purpose of Test?

To measure and evaluate Korean language skills and utilise the results for admission to Korean schools or job-seeking.
To promote more widespread use of the Korean language
To propagate and set direction for non-native Korean speakers and overses Korean.
It could be a first step to check what level are you in, what is your weakness and make a plan for further studying.
 
 

Eligibility?

For non-native speakers of Korean like Korean language learners, international students who want to study in Korea or someone would like to work in Korean companies.
The test serves as an excellent opportunity to receive formal certification!
 
 

How often does the test?

TOPIK is conducted held 6 times in a year.
3 times in Korea(January, May and November) and 3 times both in Korea and overses(April, July and October)

What kind of test are you taking?

TOPIK has 2 levels - TOPIK-1 and TOPIK-2
TOPIK-1 has 2 sublevels - 1 and 2
TOPIK-2 has 4 sublevels - 3,4,5 and 6
TOPIK-1 has 2 sections - Reading and listening
TOPIK-2 has 3 sections - Reading, listening and Writing
Each section is graded out of 100 points. So TOPIK-1's total point is 200 and TOPIK-2's total point is 300.
 
 

Validity Period?

Valid for 2 years from the announcement of the test score
You should check your future plan and do the test
 
 

How can you register?

1. go to TOPIK homepage and sign up 
2. Log in (ID/PW)
3. Click "register for TOPIK" and check the schedule and list of test centers
4. Click the test level that you wish to register and then choose country and location
5. Enter your personal information and upload your photo image file
6. Check/Edit your information
7. Pay registration fee
8. Check your registration detail on my page
 
 

If you live in Middle East ..

The test is currently available in Tukiye, Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirate, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Lebanon. If you want to check the test location, go to TOPIK home page and search it.
