도서관의 날은 도서관의 중요성과 가치를 인식하고, 도서관의 사회적 역할을 강화하기 위해 지정한 날입니다. 우리나라에서는 2021년 도서관법 개정에 따라 도서관에 대한 국민의 이해와 관심을 높이고 이용촉진을 위해 매년 4월 12일을 도서관의 날로 지정하고, 그로부터 1주일을 도서관 주간으로 지정했습니다.
Library Day is a day designated to recognize the importance and value of libraries and to strengthen their social role. In Korea, with the revision of the Library Act in 2021, in order to increase public understanding and interest in libraries and promote their use, April 12th was designated as Library Day every year, and one week from then was designated as Library Week.


역사 History
도서관의 날은 1964년 한국도서관협회가 4월 12일부터 18일까지를 도서관 주간으로 지정하고 다양한 행사를 열면서 시작되었습니다. 이후 2021년 도서관법 개정으로 매년 4월 12일이 법정기념일인 도서관의 날로 지정되었습니다.
Library Day began in 1964, when the Korean Library Association designated April 12 to 18 as Library Week and held various events. Afterwards, with the revision of the Library Act in 2021, April 12th every year was designated as Library Day, a legal memorial day.

도서관의 중요성과 가치를 인식하고 도서관과 독서문화 발전을 도모하는 날인 도서관의 날은 다양한 행사와 캠페인을 통해 도서관의 역할과 중요성을 알리고 독서문화 활성화에 기여하고 있습니다. 도서관은 지식과 정보를 제공하고, 문화와 예술을 향유하는 공간으로서 우리 삶에 큰 영향을 미치고 있습니다. 도서관의 가치와 의미를 되새기고, 책과 함께 즐거운 경험을 만들어가는 기회가 됩니다.

도서관 이용시 주의사항 Precautions
도서관의 날을 기념하여 도서관 이용 시 유의사항이 있습니다. 우선, 도서관 행사나 프로그램에 참여할 때에는 도서관의 이용 규정 및 규칙을 준수해야 합니다. 또한, 도서관에서 대출한 도서는 반드시 반납기한 내에 반납해야 하며, 연체된 경우 연체료가 부과될 수 있다는 점 유의하시기 바랍니다. 또한, 도서관은 다른 이용자에게 피해를 줄 수 있는 행위를 하여서는 안 되며, 도서관 시설을 훼손하거나 훼손하면 배상책임을 지게 될 수 있으므로 주의가 필요합니다. 마지막으로, 도서관 내 음식물 반입은 금지되어 있으므로, 도서관 내로 음식물 반입이 되지 않도록 주의하시기 바랍니다. 도서관의 자료나 시설을 이용할 때에는 다른 이용자에게 예의를 갖추고 서로 배려해야 합니다.

개인적으로 도서관을 너무나 사랑하는 한 사람으로 도서관의 날이 있다는 것을 많이 알리고 싶어 이 글을 작성하였습니다. 디지털이 많이 발달하여 E북을 너무나 많이 읽는 세상이 되었지만 도서관의 오래된 책 향기(?)가 그리울 때가 많이 있지 않으신가요? 저도 아이셋 데리고 도서관 가봐야겠습니다.

Digital technology has developed so much that we have become a world where people read a lot of e-books, but don't you often miss the scent(?) of old books in the library?
